The Dream Final that wasn't

Well I had been anticipating for this “dream finale” with unabashed excitement for more than two weeks. The build up to the final was filled with hope, faith upon the best, and some sheer brilliant football which would be played by the two best teams in Europe.
Both teams had enough credit to be where they were but in the end the better team won.
27th May, Champions League final at Rome one place if I could apparate it would be that.
Well both of the teams had their fair share of supporters and arch rivals and everyone was expecting some really good football to be played by the players.
Unfortunately it was only the players of Barcelona who played brilliant football and I being a Manchester United supporter just gaped awestruck and heartbroken. Why??Why??
Why did all the ManU players decide to perform so dismally on only that particular day? Why? Was it because the players were tired? No I don’t think so. The first team members were all give rest for a week before the much anticipated Champions League Finals. Was it because of over confidence? This I don’t know but it maybe true but why? Why would you do this when you were so close but yet so far to create history?
Barca was the better team throughout the match .It is not that Man Utd had not showed promise but whatever they had to give or show was over after the first 8 minutes and then Barca regained control of the match and controlled the entire match’s momentum. It was heartbreaking to see some of the passes that Park, Carrick made and one of them led to the tenth minute goal of Eto. If anyone had seen the match and was a Man U supporter would be shouting at Rio, O’Shea. Where were the defenders??? Where? Vidic tried and had fallen just like in the semifinals against Arsenal Gibbs had fallen and Park had scored .I wonder how they didn’t learn from there rivals mistake. It was extremely upsetting that they couldn’t penetrate beyond the Barca defence which was stupendous.
And where do I start complaining about Cristiano Ronaldo? Why can’t he play properly when the big matches show up? Some might say that he tried and it just wasn’t “his day” but I’m sorry he has been playing like this for quite some time and it is really annoying. He is supposed to be the one who leads the team upfront. What happened? Why couldn’t he convert one of his passes into a goal when it was needed and when there was time?
Rooney tried and played but he too was a major disappointment but at least he passed correctly and finished his passes nicely.
I thought after the fab four had entered the field they would start playing brilliantly. Now come on which team could stand a chance against Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez and Berbatov? The answer was given at the end of the 90th minute. Barca was just the better team and they played awesome football. The passes, the defence, the midfield, the saves everything was so strong that it was very difficult for my team to fathom their potential.
Everyone had underestimated Pep Guardiola’s side but they were the team which won the trophy and many new hearts(along with the ones they had broken or shattered more like) as they emerged victorious in Rome.
And it was the Little Man who had the last laugh.
